Montana’s vast expanses of endless prairie habitat teem with a diverse population of upland birds found in the fields, creeks and rivers, hillsides and coulees. Upland bird hunting on the Montana prairie east of the Rocky Mountain Front provides an incredible opportunity to get out and experience this incredible landscape. The hunting pressure is very light and the bird populations are consistently strong. Combine our wild and fast birds with a dose of our prairie winds and you are guaranteed a very rewarding day of shooting. Take all four of our Upland bird species: Pheasant, Hungarian partridge, Sharptail grouse and Ruffed grouse. You are welcome to hunt with your own dog(s) or hunt with Blackfeet Outfitters’ excellent working German Wirehair Pointers and Black Lab that are trained to point and flush. Hunting season is from September 1st – January 1st.

Blackfeet Outfitters provides guided hunts consistent with State regulations for Upland Game.

Upland Game hunts include Pheasant, Hungarian Partridge, Sharp-Tailed Grouse and Ruffed Grouse. Upland hunts are great on their own or as the perfect compliment to an extended fishing or big game adventure.

Our hunts take place on state lands in north central Montana.
